The reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) are the most extensive accounts of the respective current state of climate change research and the scientific knowledge on the risks climate change poses. They enjoy high authority in science and politics. This graph is an example of the virtually iconic projection of climate change until the year 2100. The four different scenarios are the result of four different couplings of climate models using between 25 and 42 different models:
