The purpose of Willers Legat is to support research and education in the history of science and related disciplines. It is based at the Centre for Science Studies, Aarhus University.

A number of travel grants (5.000 or 10.000 DKK) are offered for researchers, teachers and students. The grants will make it possible for the recipients to travel abroad in relation to their research and/or teaching and education in the history of science and related disciplines.

The grants are offered annually (two deadlines). Only applications for travels will be considered. All travels must be completed by the end of the following year. 

All applications (no longer than 500 words) must include a short description of the purpose, destination and duration of the travel. A full travel budget has to be attached to the application including information about grants applied for/received from other sources. It must be clear from the application whether the amount applied for is 5.000 or 10.000 DKK. 

No later than three months after the completion of the travel, the recipient must submit a short report describing how the grant was actually used.

Everyone can apply for the grants. Students and employees of the Center for Science Studies will have priority.
