Abstract

This study seeks to address the gaps in traditional science communication (Sci-Comm) by investigating how public astronomy communication (PAC) can integrate diverse perspectives and innovative, non-traditional approaches. By exploring and analyzing current practices, it aims to demonstrate how PAC can effectively engage audiences through adaptable and creative strategies that align with contemporary needs. These methods not only enhance the accessibility and relatability of astronomy but also foster deeper, more meaningful connections between science and society. The research underscores the importance of continuous innovation in PAC, especially in a rapidly changing world where traditional methods often fall short. Through an extensive evaluation of non-traditional practices, this work highlights the potential of PAC to evolve with its audience, ensuring it remains relevant and impactful. It also emphasizes the need for a flexible approach that considers the context, goals, and audience of communication efforts. Ultimately, this project argues that astronomy’s unique characteristics—its universal appeal, aesthetic beauty, and philosophical depth—position it as an extraordinary medium for bridging the gap between science and society. By fostering inclusivity and interdisciplinary collaboration, PAC can inspire future efforts to reimagine science communication, creating a more innovative and engaging dialogue between astronomy and the public.
